The Council of Indigenous Peoples encouraged companies, enterprises or non-governmental organizations to provide indigenous people with high-quality jobs by means of incentives. The Council conducted “Indigenous Youth Taloma in 2019-- Local Employment Plan in Indigenous Villages” for the first time to create employment opportunities for indigenous youths, thereby further devoting to the indigenous villages and perking up the tribes.
Icyang·Parod, Chairman of the Council said that in the hopes that licensed companies, non-governmental organizations or private schools, etc. to provide jobs with monthly salary of NT$ 26,000, incentives would be distributed. Starting in 2019, companies which employs indigenous youths over 15 years old and under 29 years old (including) who were not in school, or who were enrolled in on-the-job refresher courses, doctoral students and so on would be awarded. Specifically, if the worker had worked continuously for more than three months, the employer shall be awarded a monthly bonus of NT$6,000, which would be available for up to 12 months and NT$72,000 at most. This was an incentive encouraging the employers to create jobs locally, so that the youths could develop locally and be employed sustainably.
The licensed companies, non-governmental organizations should apply to the Council before September 30, 2019 if they wished to participate in the Plan. If qualified after review and the indigenous youths hired worked for consecutive three months, the employer could apply to the Council for the bonus and allowance. The latest deadline for applying for the allowance is January 15, 2020.
