The 2019 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition would be held in Taipei World Trade Center Hall from July 6 to 29. It was expected that people would fall in love with tribal foods through the characteristic food - millet from indigenous villages so as to attract the visitors to travel to the tribes, promote tribal industrial development as well as make the cultural beauty of the Indigenous Peoples known to and available for the public.

In recent years, in order to promote indigenous characteristic agriculture and tribal food culture, the Council had established the brand “Ka^so ‘ay”, and actively participated in large exhibitions at home and abroad, striving to promote indigenous culture to the international market. This year’s Culinary Exhibition had set up the featuring zone of “Ka^so’ay”, letting people know more about indigenous foods. With Indigenous Peoples characteristic ingredient - millet as the theme, through the objectives of “knowledge transfer, interesting experience, and promotion sale”, the Council planned three major exhibitions and many promotion activities, and set up the “Millet Wall” for cyber celebrities to take photos, which not only let people on the scene know millet from sowing to harvesting, but also take the peripheral products of millet home.

In this Exhibition, indigenous agricultural merchants were invited to make rice wine specially mixed with millet Abay and other food on site, and people were invited to taste and purchase. It was hoped that through the introduction of millet museum, the characteristic agricultural brand “Ka^so’aya” would be shared with more people, and at the same time, the people’ understanding of Taiwan’s indigenous food culture would be enhanced, and more different possibilities would be added to show Taiwan’s unique indigenous cultures and food characteristics.
