In 2016, the Council of Indigenous Peoples designed and developed a cute mascot named “Tribal Eagle” to bring the Council closer to the people. As a goodwill ambassador promoting the economic and industrial development of the Indigenous Peoples, Tribal Eagle was invited to participate in the 1st Mascot Taiwan Competition held by the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association at Taipei World Trade Center 1 from August 1st to August 5th.
Owls symbolize guardianship and auspiciousness among Taiwan’s Indigenous Peoples, and had the significance of protecting people and bringing blessings. The Council promoted native culture and innovation, characteristic agriculture, ecological tourism and tribal cuisine by creating small and gentle tribal eagle with straightforward personality. Tribal Eagle accompanied native traders to attend various exhibitions at home and abroad and to attend the promotion activities of native industries.
For the marketing of the upcoming “Tribal Table Festival - Ka ^ so’ay Sharing Good Food” event, the exhibition area was designed with the theme of sharing good time and fun of picnic with Tribal Eagle. In Manbo Mascot Zone (Exhibition No. A221), the Council brought Q version nap pillow, special suction cup mat and Tribal Eagle lollipop and other peripheral commodities. At the same time, the Council would plan performance showcase, singing event and dancing show exclusively for Tribal Eagle and will arrange the stage performance on the hour every day. Friends of all ages are welcomed to come by and interact with Tribal Eagle, taking photos as a memento of the good times.
The Tribal Eagle came up from behind in the online voting during the first phase of the Mascot Contest, winning second place in the government group with 11,078 votes. To thank you for your warm support, the Tribal Eagle practiced the dynamic dance show diligently. It would perform together with the tribesmen on the day of the final on August 4, fully displaying the adorable charm of “Tribal Eagle”, the goodwill ambassador of the Indigenous Peoples.
