The Council of Indigenous Peoples is holding the first session of The Safe Use of Self-made Firearms by Indigenous Peoples Training course today and tomorrow (2nd and 3rd). Participants who complete the training and pass the test will receive a qualification certificate, which is required when applying for a manufacturing, transportation, or possession license for self-made firearms in the future.

There are 50 trainees in this session, balanced across genders, with the age of participants ranging from 21 to 67 years old, demonstrating indigenous peoples' enthusiasm and positive commitment to the inheritance of traditional hunting culture.

The Council of Indigenous Peoples stated that the international hunting license training model is being introduced into the training for the first time. VR technology is also being used to simulate hunting fields to give trainees a closer sense of a real hunting experience. The Council of Indigenous Peoples hopes that the training not only encourages respect and sustainability of the traditional hunting culture of indigenous peoples, but it will also effectively increase trainees' knowledge and awareness of the safe use of firearms and reduce accidents caused by improper firearm use. This event also accentuates that our country values the importance of indigenous peoples' safety and commitment to protect their basic rights.
