The Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) participated in the 2nd Health Aging Tech Show, held from August 8 to 10, 2025, at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. The event was themed “Classic Tribal Tourism.” Through a blend of cultural depth and natural experiences, the exhibition highlighted the unique wisdom of indigenous ways of life and the beauty of Taiwan’s tribal landscapes, inviting the general public, especially the senior citizens, to step into the villages and immerse themselves in indigenous culture.

This year’s show focused on six major themes: healthcare, daily needs, sports, financial security, age-friendly cities, and senior employment opportunities. The CIP’s exhibition booth was located in the daily needs area, featuring specially designed tribal tourism itineraries tailored to the needs of senior citizens. The showcase promoted a travel style that combines cultural immersion with wellness and recreation.

The booth brought together classic tourism experiences from Hualien, Taitung, Hsinchu, Kaohsiung, and Taichung, including the well-known Towmung (Meqmeqi), Dipit, Heping, and Taluk communities. Highlights of the exhibition included in-depth presentations of tribal cultural tourism routes, on-site consultations and tours, sales of tribal agricultural specialties, handicrafts, and snacks, and a dedicated LiMA Indigenous Select Brand section showcasing premium cultural and creative products

As Taiwan prepares to officially enter a super-aged society in 2025, the CIP emphasized that cultural immersion tourism offers a timely response to the emerging senior travel market. The CIP aims to provide silver-generation travelers with safe, comfortable, and culturally enriching tour options, while also fostering greater awareness of indigenous rituals, traditions, and lifestyle wisdom. These initiatives also help support local economies and sustainable community development.
