Since the overflow disaster of the Matai'an Creek barrier lake in Guangfu Township, Hualien County, the Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) has been stationed at the Forward Coordination Office of the Central Emergency Operations Center to engage directly with tribal communities, listen to residents' needs, and relay their suggestions. By coordinating cross-ministerial resources, the CIP has worked to address a wide range of community concerns. Beginning on October 2, the council mobilized indigenous social workers, employment service officers, financial counselors, and industry promotion personnel from across the country to form Tribal Care Teams. Guided by the principle of indigenous people serving indigenous people, these teams provide door-to-door visits, comfort, and companionship to help affected families overcome hardship together.

Starting today (October 6), the CIP has expanded the scale of these efforts, assigning one care team to each of the seven villages most affected—Dahua, Daping, Datong, Daan, Dama, Beifu, and Dongfu. Teams are stationed in the communities daily to collect information about disaster-related needs and provide home visits, condolences to affected families, assistance with temporary employment applications, welfare and relief, and damage assessments of indigenous homes.

Tomorrow (October 7), the CIP will also join the Executive Yuan's "One-Stop Service Station" initiative by dispatching personnel to provide onsite services. Minister Ljaucu·Zingrur affirmed that the CIP places great importance on addressing all aspects of post-disaster reconstruction and recovery. He emphasized that the council stands firmly with indigenous residents through practical action to continue to advance community rebuilding and help families return to normal life as soon as possible.
