The Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) hosted the 2025 Enterprise Innovation and Entrepreneurship Guidance Program—Indigenous Industry Exchange Camp today (October 21) in Kaohsiung, bringing together 34 Indigenous business leaders for in-depth exchange and dialogue. CIP representatives engaged with the entrepreneurs to hear their business insights and suggestions, while expressing appreciation for their longstanding contributions to Indigenous industries. Tomorrow (October 22), participants will visit “Fish Forest,” an innovative cultural enterprise located in a coastal fishing village in central Pingtung. Once a 40-year-old grocery store, it has been transformed into a dynamic cultural platform—serving as a model of local branding that combines tradition with innovation.

The CIP noted that sustainability and innovation have become central themes in local industries in recent years, with many Indigenous businesses demonstrating remarkable creativity and growth potential. This year’s camp, themed “Brand Building and Innovative Thinking,” explores how innovation can drive cultural preservation and strengthen brand identity—from entrepreneurial ideals to long-term aesthetic and sustainable brand management.

The CIP emphasized that through focused discussions and benchmarking, the camp aims to empower Indigenous business leaders with future-oriented perspectives and new momentum for industry growth. As a dedicated supporter of Indigenous entrepreneurship, the CIP offers various comprehensive programs—including the Entrepreneurship Pilot Program, Million-Dollar Startup Program, Innovation and R&D Guidance Plan, and Enterprise Diagnostic Program—along with specialized business loan resources, to help Indigenous entrepreneurs build their enterprises and realize their aspirations.
