The 2024 WBSC Premier12 concluded with Taiwan claiming the world championship title on November 24. The national team, which included 14 Indigenous players, returned to Taiwan on the evening of November 25. Deputy Minister Adralriw Abaliusu of the Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) personally welcomed Wu Chun-Wei, Huang En-Sih, Chang Yi, Lin Kai-Wei, Lin Yu-Min, Giljegiljaw Kungkuan, Lin Li, Yueh Tung-Hua, Li Kai-Wei, Pan Chieh-Kai, Chen Chen-Wei, Tseng Song-En, Chang Cheng-Yu, and Chiu Chih-Cheng at Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, extending the highest respect to the players for their exceptional performance in the tournament.

Deputy Minister Adralriw Abaliusu highlighted that among the 28 players representing Taiwan in the 2024 WBSC Premier12, 14 were indigenous athletes, accounting for half of the national team. Throughout the tournament, indigenous players consistently delivered outstanding performances at critical moments, overcoming elite teams from around the world and defeating the Japanese national team, which is composed of top-tier Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) players, in the final match to secure Taiwan’s first-ever Premier12 championship title. This victory not only brought immense pride to the entire nation but also underscored the pivotal role and remarkable contributions of Indigenous athletes in Taiwan's sports achievements on the global stage.

The CIP has long supported outstanding Indigenous sports talents through such initiatives as the "Directions for Indigenous Specialized Talents Awards" and various development programs. In 2025, an additional NT$200 million will be allocated to further implement President Lai Ching-Te’s policy of actively nurturing indigenous sports talents with the hope that these exceptional athletes will continue to shine on the global sports stage and showcase Taiwan's excellence to the world.
