Gustav N. Aitaro, Minister of State for the Republic of Palau, led a delegation to Taiwan from October 9 to October 14 to participate in the National Day celebrations. On October 13, Minister Aitaro and his delegation were welcomed by Minister Ljaucu Zingrur of the Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) and given a tour of the Taiwan Indigenous Culture Park to learn about and experience the diversity of Taiwan's indigenous cultures.

The CIP noted that earlier, on October 1, Minister Zingrur visited Palau as part of a presidential envoy to join the celebrations marking Palau's 30th Independence Day and the 25th anniversary of Taiwan-Palau diplomatic relations, receiving warm hospitality from the Palauan government. This visit by Minister Aitaro to Taiwan, including his tour of the Indigenous Culture Park, symbolizes the strong friendship between Taiwan and Palau. Both sides are committed to further enhancing tribal exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.

During the visit, Minister Aitaro had the opportunity to participate in a Paiwan glass bead-making activity, noting that this experience helped the delegation better understand Taiwan's indigenous cultures. He also observed many cultural similarities, expressing optimism for future collaborations between the indigenous communities of both nations.

The CIP further shared that the Naluwan Dance Troupe performed a traditional Paiwan dance to welcome the delegation, receiving enthusiastic applause. Established 34 years ago, the troupe is Taiwan's only national indigenous performance group and represents Taiwan globally. The troupe recently performed at Palau's Independence Day celebrations, where they were warmly received by international attendees, contributing to successful cultural diplomacy for Taiwan.
