The Council of Indigenous Peoples has been committing to transform the handcrafts of Indigenous Peoples into cultural and creative products in recent years. There are also a great number of Indigenous Peoples entrepreneurs engaging in creating their own brands. Since 2011, [Ayoi] has been regarded as the cultural and creative image brand of Indigenous Peoples. The physical extension stores were set up under the name of [Ayoi]. It was widely acclaimed when the Council participated in the relevant cultural and creative large-scale exhibitions at home and abroad with the brand of [Ayoi].
In a bid to expand the overseas business opportunities of Indigenous Peoples cultural and creative products, the Council of Indigenous Peoples firstly took part in [84th Tokyo International Gift Show of 2017] this year (2017) and invited the excellent Indigenous Peoples’ cultural and creative brand owners and products to join the Show. Moreover, it also established a themed pavilion in Tokyo International Exhibition Center themed at [Ayoi x Life Design] 3 days from Sept. 6 to Sept. 8 to show the cultures, arts and creativeness of Indigenous Peoples with open arms!
Special committee, Chen, Mei-Lin led the delegation of the Council of Indigenous Peoples and left for Japan today (5th). The themed pavilion was built up by 18 exquisite Indigenous Peoples’ cultural and creative brands from all over Taiwan. Nearly 50 pieces of designed products mixing tribal beauty, crafts with cultural deposits delivered the splendid and comfortable scenery of Indigenous Peoples. The Council of Indigenous Peoples stated that it (2017) was the first time for the Council to lead the Indigenous Peoples cultural and creative entrepreneurs to participate in foreign cultural and creative show and the designed products displayed ranged from the weaving cotton cloth, flood wood furniture, crafted lighting, tableware that decorated fascinating life spaces to the personal life accessories, such as metalworking, designed bag, glazes arts, etc.. Each piece of them is both practical and designed sensibly that not only carried the precious cultural source but also brought different sensory feelings in life.
[Ayoi] refers to greetings, such as [welcome] and [thank you] in Chayi (Tao). It’s expected that the brand standing for the cultures and creativeness of Indigenous Peoples can integrate the charming aboriginal colors of Taiwan into aesthetics that not just demonstrates returning to innocence but also evolution and even a promising outlook in international market.
