Icyang Parod, Chairman of the Council of Indigenous Peoples, led a delegation and acted as special envoy of the President to the 25th anniversary celebration of Palau yesterday (1st). In his speech, President Montessor mentioned that he would work with Taiwan on cultural conservation and renewable energy policies, while actively promoting the policy of environmental sustainability and plastic limitation.
The Republic of Palau celebrated its 25th anniversary at New Capital Melekeok yesterday. President Raymond Gesso pointed out in his National Day speech that the Republic of China (Taiwan), the United States and Japan were the best friends who had gone through many challenges since the founding and independence of Palau. They were very helpful to the infrastructure, medical system, economic sustainability and education and culture of Palau. President Raymond Gesso said, “We have to hold on to those friends.” and hoped that such friendship would last for a long time and be handed down from generation to generation.
In addition, the Dance Troupe of the Department of Indigenous Affairs and Development of National Dong Hwa University and the Dance Troupe of the Indigenous Student Resources Center of Fu Jen University were invited to show the traditional music and dance of the Ami and Puyuma People of Taiwan on the National Day, and there was constant applause and warm response.
